what happens next -- where is it going -- what's it all for ?

Incoming goods will be carefully packed, sorted and boxed and palleted. When 40 or so pallets are ready (about 10 tons) a 40' shipping container will be ordered. When it comes, warehouse volunteers stuff it full and send it on its way, first by lorry to Grangemouth, then by way of several container ships to Beirut.

For each of the three wintersbefore the last, EDA shipped one or two containers of winter wear to Arsal, a small town in Lebanon over 5000 ft above sea level on the border with Syria with bitterly cold winters, 35,000 inhabitants and over 70,000 Syrian refugees. In Arsal we run a community workshop and vocational training courses and a distribution centre. In the winter of 2016/17, thanks to the great generosity of the people of Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife and further afield, we were able to send more than ever before. Enough, to make sure that no-one in Arsal was inadequately clad this winter.
With your help, we will do it again this winter.
